Captain's Log:
I am going to treat this blog as a journal of sorts. I am a writer, so from time to time I will be discussing my books and short stories, as well as movies reviews, book reviews, and general views on politics and current events.
Currently, I am sitting at a computer in Georgia, at my Grandparent's house. It is good to get away from home, "recharge my batteries, and shut down the engines, and get myself back to neutral." (Vaughn, Wedding Crashers) I just finished watching Troy--great movie--and I was getting ready to go bed, when I decided to start this blog. I know that usually I start a journal and then never get back around to writing in the stupid thing. Hopefully, though not likely, this time will be different.
Tomorrow, Grandpa and I will be laying plywood in the attic of his house, as well as hanging drywall. That should be fun. At least I get to use my drill. I also have to drive back to Florida tomorrow night, so that I can go back to work on Tuesday. I am very excited about not having to teach all week--it will be nice to have a week away from the classes.
I will spend a moment explaining my stardate to...I guess to myself, so that I do not forget the system. The first two digits represent the year. The zero is not read, it is just a placemarker. The next two are the month, and the last two before the period are the day. The number after the period is the time of day (current hour/24). I know this is not the correct way to write the stardate--in case any star trek fans visit my blog--but after looking through countless websites about the calculation of the stardate, it just seemed easier to make my own format, albeit "wrong" by ST:TNG standards.
I think it is time to sign off for the night. Hopefully, I will remember to write here again. Until next time.
