Captain's Log:

I am back again, and so soon at that. I believe that I mentioned writing about day 2 of my Europe adventure. Let me get that over with.

Day 2 - Rothenburg

We arrived at the Frankfurt airport after our eight hour flight at about eleven in the morning. We passed through customs and met our tour guides, Andrew and Carrie Bach. They were a very nice couple, and I am very thankful we had such great guides on our trip. After everyone had gathered in a central location, we boarded our bus and departed the airport. After a two and one half hour drive to our destination, Rothenburg, we gratefully stepped off of the bus and stretched--moaning and groaning the aches out of our limbs.

Joshua Expeditions, and our tour guides in particular, employee a wonderful method of touring the country. They would tell us briefly about the place we were going, some of the history and some of the best sights, and then they would let us break off into whatever groups we wanted and explore the city ourselves. That is the best way to view any new place, exploring for yourself.

Rothenburg was an ancient city, whose walls have been preserved since the 1300's. Ted, Luke, Danny, Jonny, and I toured around the wall and explored a few towers around the perimeter of the city. Everything was so old and very, very interesting. We met the entire group for dinner and afterwards had devotions in the hotel conference room. The beds were great everywhere we stayed the night, and I got plenty of sleep that night. The jet lag and the half day of exploring wore just about everybody out, and we were asleep in no time.

To be continued...

I will probably add day 3 in my next post. We will see.

I went to Books-a-Million last Monday and started reading a book entitled House by Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker. Very good book. I finished it, once again at BAM, on Friday. Another great book from Peretti. I have never been a fan of Dekkers, but I will have to read a book he wrote by himself to see for sure if his books are worth my time. I still have to finish the Redwall series and I am only on book five.

I just downloaded the England theme and gamer picture as well as the Broncos theme and gamer pictures for my XBox 360.

I believe that will be all for today. I am going to relax for the rest of the afternoon, and get some things done.

Goodbye,

Lorimer
