I just finished watching the Germany game, and it was great. Argentina is out, which means Chris and Andrew Gall were wrong when they said that Argentina was going to win the world cup. That is a good feeling to know that they were wrong and that my team beat them.

Should be good games tomorrow. Today's second game is not that great right now. Italy came out to an early lead and the Ukraine is not playing well at all.

I am going to try and get through some 24 today as well as work a little more on tweaking out my IE7. This is an awesome browser. Not only does it look good, but it is so useful. It is so much of an improvement over IE6, which was rubbish.

Today is the first day of my five day weekend. I am loving it.

ALERT: Hopefully, I will be going to a flash blogger site soon, so please download the Macromedia Flash Player 8, so that my site will be visible to you. I do not know when I will get this up, but hopefully within July.

I just read that the Office 07 release is going to be delayed. Fortunately I have the beta version running on my PC. It is quite nice. I think it is very user-friendly and simply designed.

Anyway...today I finished another five episodes of top of the pods. I also read Ann Coulter article and it was great. Here is a clip about the New York Times:

I am writing a bit early tonight, because I feel like going to bed early. After church of course.

I have just finished my fifth Top of the Pods episode for today. I listened to a few at work, because I am trying to catch up. They did not put one out today, so that was good that I got to gain some ground on the catching up business.

I have changed the template of my blog...as you may well have noticed...but I do not know if I am going to keep it like this. I have been hunting for a good template, but have not had much success. I believe I am going to have to create my own soon. I am trying to make one in flash, but I need to see if blogger will run a flash site. That would be awesome.

Today, I was once again robbed of the second game. Spain scored first and then managed to give up three goals to France to lose.

June 28

No games

There will be no games until Friday when Germany beats Argentina.

Today was not too exciting, but it did downpour for quite some time for the second day in a row. We need the rain, so that is a good thing. I worked some on a spreadsheet I am developing to track NFL scores this coming year. I added some features today, so that it will now work forever, or at least until they add another team.

I got a CD today with some Adobe CS2 training so that I can master the program and use it more often.

I picked up Ann Coulter's new book today; Godless, the Church of Liberalism. Great book. She is hilarious and she makes many good points. I have about five books to finish, because I have not read in quite some time.

I just watched a video of Robert preaching. It was great. That was the first time I have gotten to hear him preach, and it was good. Then Pastor got up after him and spoke for about twenty more minutes...which was exactly what I expected. I need to visit the church up there again soon. I heard Jeffrey cough and sneeze into the mic way too much, which I did not enjoy. It might have been Mark though...hmmm.

This has been a long post...that is good. I have not had one in a while. I am used to just posting the game predictions and leaving.

Well, it has been fun. I am going to bed early tonight, in the hope that I will get more sleep than usual. I will be back tomorrow. I believe today was my 19th post in a row.

Well, today is my father's birthday. Happy Birthday, Dad. The likelyhood of him actually ever reading this rubbish weblog is slim at best.

I went 2-0 today, so now I am on an 9-0 streak, going all the way back to Brazil beating Japan four days ago.

Portugal/Netherlands is such a tough call. Both teams look good, but I am going to have to go with Portugal, because of their win over Mexico. Hopefully, England can win tomorrow. It will be tough without Owen, but they can pull it off.

Well the day started out well. I went 2-0 for the first games and then 0-1-1 on the next two. I cannot believe that England tied; that was terrible. My overall record now is 20-6-9.

Well, I had a great day today. I went three for three on my predictions. My overall record is now 19-5-8. Not bad. Hopefully I can get at least three of the four tomorrow.

June 20

Germany is going to win the first game
Poland is going to win the second game
Trinidad and Tobago is going to win the third game
England is going to win the fourth game

The toughest game of the day to call is going to be the Germany/Ecuador game. Germany is the host nation and has two great wins under their belts. Their spectacular finish against Poland proves that they can put it together when they need to, but they are going to need to play a lot better against Ecuador if they expect to get the top spot in the group. Right now, because of goal differential, Ecuador has the upper hand. They have been playing so well it is unbelievable. In their first game, they shock Poland with a 2-0 win and then come out against Costa Rica and shut them out 3-0. Ecuador is on the top of their game and it will be tough for Germany to beat them. Germany’s defense is going to have to play harder than they have the last two games. I am going to go with Germany because they need a win to get the top spot in the group. Ecuador can settle for a draw and still get the top position. Germany, hopefully, will be playing harder and will want it more. Once again, this is the toughest game of the day to call, so in essence, it could go either way.

I am almost caught up to the fifth season of Smallville and it is getting good. I will be back tomorrow, after I make the tough calls on the games for Wednesday.

Captain's Log:

Well it has been a slow Sunday. After church this morning, I ate at firehouse while watching the Brazil game. For now I am 1-0-1 today and the France-Korea game is almost over. I am finally catching up on the topofthepods episodes, for I only have about 19 left after listening to about 40. Those guys are hilarious. I submitted a list to them last night, so we will see if they read it or not.

I got a letter in the mail from BCC the other day informing me that I made the Dean's List...that was nice, because I did not make the Dean's List last semester. I am going to start at UCF this fall, and I am going to try and make Dean's List every term, but we will see what happens.

I am trying to decide whether or not to order the German language course from Rosetta Stone or from some other company. I still have some research to do, but I would like to get started on that soon. That would be a good language to master.

Tonight I have to run the soundroom again, so I will have to leave here early so that I can turn on the board and the choir mics for practice. I am currently reading about five books, but I am going to bring Angel Fire East by Terry Brooks and try to finish off that series. I have only read 10 books this year, which is terrible and sickning. This time last year I had finished 25 books and was almost finished with number 26. Last year I finished my tenth book one week into February. I will be lucky to hit 10,000 pages this year.

The game between France and Korea just ended in a draw which puts my record at 16-5-8. That is terrible. Hopefully I can pull all three points tomorrow.

All right, I believe I have gone on long enough, so I will sign off for now. I have already put my predictions in for tomorrow, and I have nothing else to say.

Well today's adventure on the water was good. We had a good activity, which of course was well organized. Also, tonight Luke, Brad, Chris, Allie, Nathan, and I went to see Cars, which was great. That was an extremely funny movie. The short film at the beginning was good too.

Today was weird as far as the world cup is concerned. Ghana beat the Czech Republic and the US tied with Italy. So I went 1-1-1 today. Total score overall is 15-5-6. Now the US has to beat Ghana and Italy has to beat the Czech Republic so that the US can advance to the second round in the second spot in group E.

All right, not too bad today. Mexico had a rough go of things, tying Angola...not good. I went 2-0-1 today, so my total overall is 14-4-5. Could be better.

Yesterday was terrible because I only pulled a 1-2-0. I did get a point for the only game I really cared about though. England pulled off a win in the last minutes of the game. I had about 10 people over watching the game. Quite a crowd.

I will make predictions for Sunday's games tomorrow.

Microsoft has just announced that they will be putting out an ipod killer. They have not released a name or pictures, but it will be a nice mp3 and video device to beat out Apple at their own game. So awesome.

USA needs to win the next two games, thanks to their dismal performance in the first game. They really need to pull together and win, or else they will be headed home early.

For those readers who do not know how the world cup is structured, let me briefly explain. There are 32 teams that qualify for the world cup, and there are 8 groups into which the teams are placed. 4 teams to each group. Each team plays the other three teams in its group once. Each win earns the team 3 points, and a tie earns the team 1 point. After the initial three games, the top two point leaders in each group advance to the next stage--16 teams. From then on it is single elimination.

I only got one of my three guesses right today, and one draw. Not the best. I cannot believe that Japan lost this morning to Australia. That was an amazing comeback in the last eight minutes.

In other news, the second movie in the Chronicles of Narnia has been pushed back to summer 2008. Also, pixar's new movie was announced, and it is called Ratatouille. Looks good. Toy Story 3 is set to come out in 2008.

I must make a slight correction to yesterday's predictions. I placed the Brazil game on the 12, when in fact it is on the 13th, so the pick for Brazil is still correct, but for the following day. As for the first game tomorrow:

I must go back to word tomorrow, but I will be coming home to watch the game at noon, and then heading back to finish out the day. Tomorrow night is wing night, and I will probably not have time to blog tomorrow afternoon. Here are the picks for Tuesday just in case.

Captain's Log:

England has put away their first game in the world cup with a 1-0 win over Paraguay! Great start. They really did not play that well today. The only goal came in the fifth minute when Beckham curved a shot off the head of Paraguay's captain. After that they really only had one or two good runs. Joe Cole was playing well as usual, as was Beckham, but the team looked a little off today. Ashley Cole was not playing well today at all. He turned the ball over a few times. At least they came away with a win though.

I went 1 for 2 yesterday on the predictions, but so far today I am back on track. Hopefully Sweden can pull a win over T & T.
