Captain's Log:

Thank goodness, it is Friday. I am ready for the weekend. I did not have to teach today, either. Ray needed the kids for three periods to help set up for tomorrow's conference. So, I just got to go home. That was nice.

News: The port deal has been called off! The UAE pulled out of the deal, because they thought that it was causing too much trouble in our country. They pulled out and let the American company take the contract. President Bush may still have trouble with congress for a while, because of his stand on the deal; however, the issue at hand is resolved.

News: The Patriot Act extension has finally passed through congress and President Bush has signed it.

I just watched Spaceballs...very funny. I am going to sign off and relax now. I will be back later. Later - as in tomorrow.

Captain's Log:

Well today I discovered a brand new toy. Live.com.
This is a great new web search engine and it has the ability to rival Google in the coming months. At this present time, Live is only in Beta testing mode and it still looks and performs so well. It not only has a sharp look, but great versitility. I cannot wait until the full-blown version comes out. Should be an awesome thing.

I have been busy the past few days, and I can only write for a little while, for I am about to go and pick up my dad from the airport.

I have now nearly finished formatting my computer, for today I activated my desktop and placed Live as the backround, so that I now have instantaneous access to the web and news stories from any source I wish.

I have not yet read the Ann Coulter column this week, so I will have to post my opinion about that tomorrow. However, today I would like to touch on a few items of interest in the news today.

First of all, it seems that Mount Vesuvius, which destroyed Pompeii all those years ago, is going to explode sometime in the near future. That would be bad, because scientists are predicting a huge eruption which could destroy the town of Naples. Not the best for them.

Google is about to start a new service. Backing up clients files online on a server. They are going to allow people to store things online so that the files can be accessed from anywhere. Googling your hard drive, while not the safest thing, could be useful in some instances.

I am going to have to end for tonight, but I should be back tomorrow. Talk to you soon.

Captain's Log:

Once again, it has been a while since I have written in my weblog, but I was not able to yesterday, nor the day before, so here I am. Friday I attended the new members reception at Pastor's house, because I am on staff. I learned that staff members could come, so I decided to drop in and have a good meal and get to know the new church members. That was fun.

I still cannot get my computer fixed. Cliff and I came up with a few ideas on Friday at work to check the hard drive and run some tests to make sure it has not gone bad. All of the tests came back ok, so I have no idea why the computer is not working correctly. Maybe I will fix it on Monday.

Yesterday, Luke and I spent the day at Nathan and Allie's condo, installing the baseboards. That was fun.

I just got back from Firehouse and decided to write an entry here, since I had missed a few days.

I am almost finished with the second disk in the third season of 24. That is always good.

I was ready a Fox News report about the new project "Origami" that Microsoft is putting out. It is supposed to be Microsoft's version of the iPod, but way more advanced. It has touch-screen capability, and the screen slides up to reveal a keyboard. The actual article describes it a little better than I can here, but it looks to be an awesome product. Some news sources are calling it a mini laptop as well as a portable media device. Looks good; can't wait.

Nathan is leaving tomorrow for two weeks of training, and then when he gets back, he is getting married. I will be without a roommate for a while, and that will be a nice change. Nathan was a good roommate, but some time alone will be nice.

I think that may be all for now. I think I am going to go and finish Mariel of Redwall today, since it was due last month at the library. Terry Brooks just announced the title to the new Shannara book today. It will be called Armageddon's Children, and will be available late August.

All right then, until next time.

Captain's Log:

Well, it has been quite a while since I have written in this weblog. It seems I need to enter something of the past four days. I got a cat on Monday, which is weblog worthy, and his name is Smokie. I am going to have to get the cat declawed, I think. He is very friendly, but has a tendency of slowly inserting his claws into you. He will be fine soon.

Today at work we started imaging laptops, and it is taking about an hour per laptop, which is not good. There are 75 laptops to image. Hopefully we can find a faster way tomorrow.

In the news, the money from the British bank robbery was found.

Also, Ann Coulter's new column came out today, entitled 'Speaking the Truth to Dead Horses: My Oscar Predictions'. Very good.

Not much left to say, except that my computer for my office at the church is not loading correctly. I will have to solve that mystery tomorrow. I did not have time today.

Another thing, try this game out that I found online. Very cool game.

I think that is all for tonight.
